time for a new years post!

Alrighty! It's been a good two months since I have posted in my blog and as I sit here watching How I Met Your Mother on tv and contemplate when I will go shopping for dinner tonight; I'm ready to update! Christmas was amazing here, my mom treated me to a christmas tree and tree skirt so we had a beautiful decorated tree and I even got around to wrapping presents before christmas! Here's the finished look:
yea it turned out awesome I must admit.

Yesterday I ventured to Target with my bestie and !!FINALLYY! got a bookshelf. It is amazing and I am soo flippin happy. Now that I've gotten the bookshelf though, I've realized I dont have many books or anything to put into it... So that is my next goal.
As for my next crafting adventure, I'm going big this time!! I am going to make a mantle headboard for the bedroom! It is going to be completely beautiful and awesome and all of the above. First of all, it's a pretty good project because my mom has a bunch of left over scrap wood and old homemade columns that will be perfect for the sides of the mantle. All we need to get is a piece of plywood for the center as well as the foam and fabic that will go over the ply wood. I'm hoping for it to look a little like this: 7-1-sunset1.jpg
I'm going to do the mantle in white, and most likely do the fabric black. Then I will decorate with black and white knick knacks on the top shelf, I'm hoping mine will be a tad wider than that to incorporate a few pictures/picture frames, candle sticks, and a large picture in the middle. I'm hoping for something dramatic, possibly a black and white picture of some sort of wild animal reuinion haha..Since I am trying to add some leopard print in black and white to the bedroom as well as the zebra... I also want to add some more pieces of the dark red that I used in the bathroom and on my lampshade:) I recently bought a large vase in a deep red that I have in the corner of the bedroom, but have yet to add anything to it. I'm hoping to get something like....this:
they light up!!!! And are soo perrty, I just wish they were in a redder color, but oh well. I can improvise, but I was also going to add a couple other branches with black balls on it (sounds totally odd...but you shall see the awesomeness!) and maybe some cattails? who knows.. its all a work in progress.

As for the living room, I sorta wandered all over the place there for a second...but I am SO FREAKIN EXCITED to get this print framed that my lovely mama got for me and put it up above the couch! It will be fantastic... Here's a picture of the painting that was $2000 online.. ha. We didnt splurge that bad...
but it is still absolutely beautiful, and I cannot WAIT to put it up. Can you feel my excitement? Hahah. I think I've blabbed on and on enough here...but well ha, Im going to talk some more!

Some "New Years Resolutions" I have up my sleeve are to be smarter with my grocery shopping, hence planning a shopping list for the week, and shop only for that week, ANNDD eat healthier! I thikn Drew and I eat fairly well, but end up eating out a lot and not having complete meals, So I am adding either a salad or chopped fruit or veggies or a combo(woo!) as a side to our dinners. I also hope to get back into school and finish my AA this year, and get Drew to take and pass a class as well. So far, we are on the right track!
Thanks for stoppin by. :)

PS: Coming up on the next blog: Pillowcases, Eating better update, Working out, Donating furniture, Updating and cleaning out area between kitchen and living room, BEER!!, Cleanse?, and maybe more....I bet you can't wait for my super nerdiness to continue..!

I think I might blog about it

I am feeling bloggy today! I'm about ready to fire up the instagram (and dare I say start up my tiktok?) again and in about a month I'll be making the switch to my fall/winter capsule wardrobe. But here's the thing...I'm having SO much fun in my current spring/summer one! I'm pretty sure I am going to combine them for a somewhat larger than average, but longer lasting, capsule. A lot of people switch theirs every season. I tend to switch it up every 6 months. Now it may be more of a "this is my wardrobe forever and everytime I buy something new I get rid of something with holes or stains" wardrobe.  Anyway- My incredibly loose formula for building a capsule is as follows:  Figure out my color scheme! I did a brown base for my last fall/winter and navy base for my spring/summer. I think that this time around I will do a navy base for my fall/winter, but keep in some of the brown as a secondary color. I also always have a cool off-white as my second base col...

Time for my yearly check-in!

Ok so- (have you ever seen that video about the end of the world from ebaum's world? well this was said like that guy....)  Alright the first thing is first - I have an 18 month old daughter and am hoping to get pregnant again in the (near?) future. This means that I am living in that postpartum mama bod world and am not mentally ready to try and get slimmer yet. Maybe I never will! I have a somewhat apple/rectangle shape and lots of belly!! I am also petite in height. This makes it SO hard to find clothes that fit AND look good on me! I have searched high and low for jeans that fit and also don't give me a muffin top or fall down my narrow hips. Anyway, I have made a few purchases for some clothes that will be more flattering for my figure- finger's crossed. This means peplum tops, slacks, high waisted leggings/skinny jeans when they fit. I also have NO MONEY! So, some of my purchases have had to be through amazon and old navy in order to be able to afford clothing for my...
