i really need to get my act together!!

Well, when I get into a mood; I really want to get things done...but MOST of the time I'm just trying to keep my house clean, get to work on time, and have time for my friends and family! Right now I'm in the middle of my day off, and have started wandering around our place doing little things here and there. Cleaning and straightening up the closet is where I began...then I moved onto the bathroom sink, started cleaning the area and the toilet...the shower....moved onto folding the clean clothes that have been sitting there for a week now...haha. And then I moved downstairs and realized I felt crafty! I have had these plates for awhile that I MUST GET ON THE WALL! I found a tutorial online using a paperclip, sand paper and super glue that seems to hold up plates really well, yet I have no sand paper or super glue....grr. I will most likely be going out to grab those items before the day is over and putting up my plates. But then once I got to thinking about where  my plates are going to go....I felt the NEED to find a place for my metal peacocks! They were once behind the couch...but now need a new home. Right now they are laying on top of the bookshelf like sad dead birds....they really need to be up on the wall where they belong! I will ponder their placement once I get the plates up and feel happy with where I put them... hopefully later today!

My next goals are to fill up all the space in my new entertainment center. Oh, I didn't tell you about my new entertainment center!? Yeah...got a new coffee table too!!! ...I will put up pics once I'm done rambling. And I really want to get to work on my mantle headboard and complete my bedroom area....Then of course I am going to want to move into a bigger place so I can just keep going and going and going.... I am very limited here.
As for the bedroom, I am contemplating switching out my zebra theme for a more vintage whites and creams and light teals? a little black thrown in. Not really a "theme", but I've seen some beautiful ideas on pinterest! Right now my side tables are black and I have a black trunk and a silver trunk, which I plan on keeping all except the black trunk. I want to get some vintage trunks instead. I may just keep the zebra comforter, but rather than keeping it modern, vintage-ize it up a little! I think it's do-able.. Definitely my next project will be upstairs and perfecting the bedroom!

So,  I'm pretty much done with the living room, I just need a very SMALL table for the backside of the couch with drawers so I can use my cute peacock knobs. I think I want it in a green or blue color. It would really pop and bring everything together :). I'm not going to move though, until I buy a place. At least, that's what I tell myself right now. I want to buy so I can paint, and plant, and remodel, and not have to leave it behind for someone else to enjoy....unless I am renting it out myself. Once Drew gets himself a better job, we are both going to start contributing to a savings plan and get ourselves a cute little house or cottage preferably on a little bit of land. That's our goal at least!!! Hope it works out for us.
Alright I'm done with the chit chat, here's some updates via photos!

I put the vase and peacock back over by the "bar" area, but once I get more in the shelves, I might put them back...if it doesn't look too cluttered. The bar area is super cluttered with them there, and isn't as nice of a place to sit or eat with less room there. But time will tell!
the CUTEST coffee table ever, with my cute candle holders and cute candle plate. I absolutely adore it and love it even more because it was only $20!! We are going to keep it simple like that, just candles and then put a couple "classy" magazines on the bottom  of it. I have a few Rolling Stones that I might throw under there:). And then keep our glasses and coasters on our side table that we already have.

I randomly got these branches to put in my vase upstairs and thought I'd share it with everyone!

New potpourri that we have in one of the boxes in the entertainment center. I love it!! And it smells amazing: bamboo and jasmine.

This is my cute little fountain I got that was only 5 bucks!!! I threw in some of the stones and fake diamonds I had in the plate with my candles, so now that isn't as crowded. I love how everything just works itself out! My fountain is super cute and I plan on finding a spot for it in the entertainment center, but for now it lives on the coffee table. Like I said, I want to keep it pretty simple, so the fountain (or should I say, Latoya? haha) wont be sitting there for long.
That's about all I got for updates right now, but as soon as classes are out for the JC later this month I'll have a little more to talk about!! Yay!

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

I think I might blog about it

I am feeling bloggy today! I'm about ready to fire up the instagram (and dare I say start up my tiktok?) again and in about a month I'll be making the switch to my fall/winter capsule wardrobe. But here's the thing...I'm having SO much fun in my current spring/summer one! I'm pretty sure I am going to combine them for a somewhat larger than average, but longer lasting, capsule. A lot of people switch theirs every season. I tend to switch it up every 6 months. Now it may be more of a "this is my wardrobe forever and everytime I buy something new I get rid of something with holes or stains" wardrobe.  Anyway- My incredibly loose formula for building a capsule is as follows:  Figure out my color scheme! I did a brown base for my last fall/winter and navy base for my spring/summer. I think that this time around I will do a navy base for my fall/winter, but keep in some of the brown as a secondary color. I also always have a cool off-white as my second base col...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...
