sheeeee's baaaaaackkk!

Well, hello again. You thought I was never coming back, didn't you? Well, surprise! Here I am! It's been a whirlwind since that last time I blogged...but I realize that this is a great place for me to be inspired, even though it is me inspiring myself! I enjoyed reading back over the past year to see what I have accomplished, and although I had a really hard 6 months since I've been on here...I am still going fairly strong.
I did get over my back injury and out of my social funk, which is awesome but I ended up falling down my stairs AGAIN back in July/August? and sprained my ankle. That was delightful. Luckily, even though I had a hard time walking for a few weeks, limping made it possible to work and be social as well :).
I also had a little promotion at work and have been doing administrative duties once or twice a week with a pretty nice pay raise. I've really enjoyed it and felt that it has brought some organization to my job. It makes me wonder if I should push for management in my near future! With a new location opening up, the possibilities are endless.  Maybe not endless, but there ARE possibilities.
One amazing accomplishment I have achieved is attending school. I am taking three classes; Statistics, Anthropology and Library Information Resources. Those three classes are my ticket to getting my AA in Social and Behavioral Sciences. What I will do with that degree, I do not know...but having one makes me feel a million times richer and better about myself. So far, I am doing fantastically in my classes, I have an A in two of them and a B in one....and I'm hoping I can get it up to an A by the end of the semester. We are about halfway through!
I've also been doing a small amount of crafting here and there. Right now I am working on putting fabric flowers around my mirror. I just finished another project making my mom a necklace and making myself a bracelet. I plan on doing more, as soon as I get the motivation! Other than crafting, I've been trying to vamp up my style. I have been slowly but surely getting rid of clothes I still had/have from high school ( I KNOW RIDICULOUS, but hey what can I say they aren't ripped up and they fit me.....OK but yes, out of style, anyway..) and buying new stuff.
Now, I just need to start working out. Eating healthy has made me lose about 0 pounds, so I gotta get that cardio going ASAP. My goal is to start working out as soon as my ankle is fully healed. I would love to take a yoga and a pilates class at the JC(If they offer a zumba class, I'll be joining that as well...) because they are WAY SUPER cheaper than going to a studio ($20 for 5 months rather than $100 a month) and going on jogs a couple times a week, hoping to have time to do it 3-4 times a week. Now, writing this down makes me feel like I kinda HAVE to do it...so hopefully this works :)
I know super long and boring, but hey I gotta tell someone about my awesome life;)
Until next time

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...

Deodorant Review!

For quite a few years actually I have been on the hunt for the perfect deodorant. I decided to go with a natural and cruelty-free deodorant instead of an antiperspirant around 4 or 5 years ago. Deodorant is used to reduce odor using antibacterial ingredients and antiperspirant reduces odor and sweat by closing sweat ducts. Aluminum is the ingredient found in antiperspirants to block underarm sweat, and 4 to 5 years ago I believed that it could cause breast cancer and Alzheimer's. I have since researched it on my own, and found that while there is no conclusive evidence that the toxins found in most antiperspirants and deodorants are harmful to our health, why risk it? At the end of the day, I want to use as many natural & cruelty-free products and consume as much unprocessed foods as I possibly can.  An easy way to do that is by switching out my beauty products for ones that have as few ingredients as possible and GOOD ingredients that are all natural.  All natural a...
