this is whats up

So...I recently moved into a loft apartment with my boyfriend, Drew, as most of you already know. We've been here a little over 2 months now and have gotten most of our necessities for the place, so ive moved onto decorating. Each of my rooms sort of have themes so far. My bathroom was the first thing i bought anything for and it is a red victorian sorta type theme. I've pretty much completed the bathroom/sink area and just need a "jewlery tree" and maybe a shelving/basket unit in the cabinets below the sink...

My kitchen is just green. So far...i guess my "themes" are just colors haha, but whatever. It's so tiny that its pretty difficult to decorate in it, so i'm going to make some cute magnets for the fridge and on the other side of the kitchen i want to get some bar stools. Once i do that maybe ill add a few small decos on the bar counter. i dont spend much time in there anyway....haha!

Okay now for the hard parts....living room and bedroom! i have a LOT planned for the living room and a little bit planned for the bedroom, all of which i'm hoping i'll be able to make myself or find at a discount/free? or at thrift or second-hand stores! After all, i'm basically poor and can't be spending loads of cash on decorating the place. But i CAN make it amazing on a budget!!! :)  The reason i am doing this blog is because i want to set out my goals in writing and maybe post some things in this blog that i can look back on. sort of like an online folder i keep all my ideas, thoughts, websites on how-tos and diy, etc. I dont really expect anyone to read it or give feedback, but if you do-- cool!

Anyway onto a quick run-through of my ideas and things i need for the living room! Furniture wise i want to get a side table with a small cabinet and maybe a drawer in it to store things. We just have way too much stuff out on display on the side table that doesnt need to be out all the time, but that we often use while in the living room. I also want to get a bookshelf and possibly a small desk. I'm going to either find all these items on craigslist or buy reasonably priced brand-new and if its new ill buy in black, if used or free or whatever ill find the time to paint it/them.

Ok on to the good parts- my craft ideas!!! So first i want to make some pillow covers for the love seat and chair. I am going to get like 3 or 4 more pillows of various shapes/sizes. I was thinking a few cirlces one big one small and a few squares the same, and maybe one of those roll pillows...i dunno. But I already have a really deep blue fuzzy pillow on the chair and i want to get my pillows all in bright colors one bright/dark green, one teal blue, one bright blue, and then one with a peacock or peacock feathers on it. Awesome right?! And probably get the fabrics in diff materials so they are all different, but go together! Another project i have in mind is doing some sort of peacock feather collage or something to put under the glass top on the side table we already have. One more project i have that i am going to make soon is a mason jar chandelier. I am going to dye a bunch of diff sized mason jars matching colors to the pillows and then hang them on a round hoop at diff lengths. I am also going to add some hanging crystals and even possibly a few feathers. Ill put an led light in all the mason jars and we already have a hook to hang it from on the cieling! I cant wait to make it.

I think I might blog about it

I am feeling bloggy today! I'm about ready to fire up the instagram (and dare I say start up my tiktok?) again and in about a month I'll be making the switch to my fall/winter capsule wardrobe. But here's the thing...I'm having SO much fun in my current spring/summer one! I'm pretty sure I am going to combine them for a somewhat larger than average, but longer lasting, capsule. A lot of people switch theirs every season. I tend to switch it up every 6 months. Now it may be more of a "this is my wardrobe forever and everytime I buy something new I get rid of something with holes or stains" wardrobe.  Anyway- My incredibly loose formula for building a capsule is as follows:  Figure out my color scheme! I did a brown base for my last fall/winter and navy base for my spring/summer. I think that this time around I will do a navy base for my fall/winter, but keep in some of the brown as a secondary color. I also always have a cool off-white as my second base col...

Time for my yearly check-in!

Ok so- (have you ever seen that video about the end of the world from ebaum's world? well this was said like that guy....)  Alright the first thing is first - I have an 18 month old daughter and am hoping to get pregnant again in the (near?) future. This means that I am living in that postpartum mama bod world and am not mentally ready to try and get slimmer yet. Maybe I never will! I have a somewhat apple/rectangle shape and lots of belly!! I am also petite in height. This makes it SO hard to find clothes that fit AND look good on me! I have searched high and low for jeans that fit and also don't give me a muffin top or fall down my narrow hips. Anyway, I have made a few purchases for some clothes that will be more flattering for my figure- finger's crossed. This means peplum tops, slacks, high waisted leggings/skinny jeans when they fit. I also have NO MONEY! So, some of my purchases have had to be through amazon and old navy in order to be able to afford clothing for my...
