ThUrSdAy....

Titling my posts is obviously not my strong suit....ha! So I know on my list of goals yesterday I didn't really say anything about household chores or anything like that...and I keep the place fairly clean, but I've been trying to work harder so I am cleaning up after myself rather than doing a big clean once a week. So far this week it has been going very well! I even cooked Drew dinner last night...(nachos with homemade chips...guess thats not a great start to eating better...) AND did all the dishes today as well as a few loads of laundry. Tomorrow I plan on getting the rest of the laundry clean....been letting it pile up, and continue to straighten up after myself on the daily. The place has been pretty spic and span since last week now :). I'm loving it!!!!! Also this way I can have surprise visitors and not freak out....although nobody ever surprise visits me...yeah i'm trying to hint that you are all welcome to visit anytime!!! Obviously only those of you with my gate code are invited :) and those who don't have them...well text me and I'll remind you what it is! Or I won't write back and that means I dont want you here......

As for my other goals, well we have been paying the bills on time and having money left-over. In a few weeks we are going salmon fishing which digs into us throwing any money into the savings accounts...but we are going to try and put everything into the savings, and just take out the bare minimum for our little trip....luckily our friend's parents have a friend that has a weekend getaway house where we are all planning on fishing so lodging is free! And...dry! It's going to be an awesome mini vacation with my 3 fave people! All we need to worry about is food, gas, and fishing gear/my license.

On another very exciting note...my sister and her daughter are back in town! For good this time! I am SOOOO excited to start spending more time with her and my niece. I think we can all agree that she will love it here much more than Nebraska?? Well...I am hoping to make her experience and new beginning here as awesome as possible. Sorry no pix to keep your interest today! If you've read this much I congratulate you on caring so much about my boring life :) Ta ta for now!

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...

Deodorant Review!

For quite a few years actually I have been on the hunt for the perfect deodorant. I decided to go with a natural and cruelty-free deodorant instead of an antiperspirant around 4 or 5 years ago. Deodorant is used to reduce odor using antibacterial ingredients and antiperspirant reduces odor and sweat by closing sweat ducts. Aluminum is the ingredient found in antiperspirants to block underarm sweat, and 4 to 5 years ago I believed that it could cause breast cancer and Alzheimer's. I have since researched it on my own, and found that while there is no conclusive evidence that the toxins found in most antiperspirants and deodorants are harmful to our health, why risk it? At the end of the day, I want to use as many natural & cruelty-free products and consume as much unprocessed foods as I possibly can.  An easy way to do that is by switching out my beauty products for ones that have as few ingredients as possible and GOOD ingredients that are all natural.  All natural a...
