today is your day....nothin can stand in your way

got a little Shania kick right there...playing her station on Pandora right now. As I sit here pondering what to do next with my little loft apartment...drinking a cup of coffee and wondering why I didnt put any Baileys in it...I realized that I can utilize this blog to not only keep up on my decorating and crafting, but also to put down some other goals and if its slightly public....be more apt to complete them! A couple quick goals are to go back to school in january, start a work out/healthier eating regiment, have more money in my savings, buy a new car and buy a house. I don't really have a time line for the last three, but once I get settled back into school and start up my work outs and eating better it will be easier to plan my monetary goals. Drew and I have INSANITYYYYY so we are going to get on doing that everyday! Will update soon....

Anyway I had a pretty successful weekend with my mom shopping for the place. I got some really AWESOME stuff! Since I've started this blog I realized I really need to whip out my camera and stop taking pictures with my cell phone! Too bad that little piece of technology is hidden somewhere at my dad's house right now...but I'll get it within the next few days...along with my beanie from Peru! It's that time of year.... Ok just had ANOTHER side thought...thinking I should name this project something...the decorating of the loft. Something like...Mission Loft Alterations...or something WAY cooler, I just need to think of it. Ok really, back to my spectacular findings and projects from the weekend.
Well first of all I got the lamp I had been wanting to get sooo badly... the lamp is surprisingly really bright and I have to keep it on the setting with only two of the lights on...which is fine by me really...
and I got this rockin red vase for the bedroom.
Totally just took that pic sitting down in my living room, but you get the jist of it.. :) Drew got me a red rose yesterday so thats what is in it right now...plastic and all haha. On to the BEST part of my Saturday with my mom/awesome sister....we got a little crafty!
We bought the lampshade and stand from Target then bought all the fabrics at Joannes. I got three black and white patterns and three patterns with red in it. I ended up doing one rose in each of the black and white patterns but used only two of the red patterns. The rose I made with the third pattern just wasnt perfect and I made one more with the red zebra print one instead. I glued all the fabric roses on then my mom had some pearls and clear beads that I put in the middles! I'll have to take a picture of it in the bedroom....once I clean the bedroom!! Hehe.

Another thing I'm proud of .... sorta kinda maybe made my halloween costume? Ok i cut up a 4 year olds costume to make it fit me...but it turned out pretty cute! from this...

to this.....

here's some updates on rooms as a whole so far....
yay so fun!!!

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

I think I might blog about it

I am feeling bloggy today! I'm about ready to fire up the instagram (and dare I say start up my tiktok?) again and in about a month I'll be making the switch to my fall/winter capsule wardrobe. But here's the thing...I'm having SO much fun in my current spring/summer one! I'm pretty sure I am going to combine them for a somewhat larger than average, but longer lasting, capsule. A lot of people switch theirs every season. I tend to switch it up every 6 months. Now it may be more of a "this is my wardrobe forever and everytime I buy something new I get rid of something with holes or stains" wardrobe.  Anyway- My incredibly loose formula for building a capsule is as follows:  Figure out my color scheme! I did a brown base for my last fall/winter and navy base for my spring/summer. I think that this time around I will do a navy base for my fall/winter, but keep in some of the brown as a secondary color. I also always have a cool off-white as my second base col...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...
