march = amazing

Well, its the 1st so I'm not quite sure about the amazement of it yet, but February was literally the worst month of my life, so pretty much anything that happens this month will be amazing. Basically, I've had a little bit of family drama that has been quite upsetting and heart-breaking, that's as far into that as I'll go. I also fell down my stairs last Sunday and injured myself pretty badly in my neck and upper back, today it is feeling a lot better. :)  On top of all that, the week before my injury I had like a 2 week long cold!! So the day I finally feel better from my cold, I fall. GRRR. Of course all my awesome plans over the past two weeks or more were put off because of my depressed-ness, cold-ness, and painful-ness. So, I'm pretty disappointed in myself, but March is a new month and its a new month were things will be happening.

 I should be getting my painting soon from Michaels, they lost some of the matting I guess so its taking an extra week or two for the framing process. Very disappointing, but hey that will make March all the more awesome... That's pretty much my update for house/decor/crafts, as I am trying to get a good amount of money saved up; I realized I will be living in my place for awhile, so no rush making it perfect!

Since today and yesterday my pain has gone down a lot, instead of constant severe pain its a constant dulled pain with severe twinges of pain... yeah... fun...I've gotten to my bills and made myself a nifty little chart of all my bills due, what date they are due, if I've paid them or not, total money in bank, total earnings (estimated) for March and April!! YAY! It was kinda fun....lol. I also finally submitted my tax return, which is quite measely...but hey at least I'm not payin! One other update on the awesomeness of March 1st thus far...is I registered at cicerone.org to get on my way to becoming a certified beer server, then hopefully a certified cicerone! Hey, as long as I get a certificate for my wall, I'm happy! Actually, that moves me right along to my last and final reason that March is so awesome.....

I FOUND OUT THAT I QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL AID ON MY OWN! Finally!!! Once Fall semester starts I will be 24, which means I am no longer dependent on my parents (even though I really haven't been for like 2 years...but whatevs) and I can use my own tax information, and get money for school. From the looks of it I'll be getting just enough to pay for a full time semester plus all the books :) I'm not sure if I will do a full-time semester in the Fall because of work, but If i take two classes I will have all the classes I need for an AA in Social Sciences...woo hoo!

I have realized that even though I dislike it, I might as well finish up my AA in Liberal Studies- teaching, and my certificate in Children in the Justice system, since I will be able to take classes for free(basically). So I'm going to finish those up, which should only take me another year after Fall...unless I take a few extra classes this fall, then Possibly done by Summer '13. Either way by the end of 2013 I'll have a few AAs and a certificate, which will be pretty awesome. Although, I'd love to get a Bachelors and Masters...I'm not sure if it is right for me yet. It is a lot of money to spend and take loans on, compared to the jobs I want to get and their earnings. Ahh...it's life I guess, making these decisions. At the very least I'm going to continue at the JC for another year+, then figure it out from there. I'm just glad that I have a job that can support me while I figure out what the hell I'm doin with my life!

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

 I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

I think I might blog about it

I am feeling bloggy today! I'm about ready to fire up the instagram (and dare I say start up my tiktok?) again and in about a month I'll be making the switch to my fall/winter capsule wardrobe. But here's the thing...I'm having SO much fun in my current spring/summer one! I'm pretty sure I am going to combine them for a somewhat larger than average, but longer lasting, capsule. A lot of people switch theirs every season. I tend to switch it up every 6 months. Now it may be more of a "this is my wardrobe forever and everytime I buy something new I get rid of something with holes or stains" wardrobe.  Anyway- My incredibly loose formula for building a capsule is as follows:  Figure out my color scheme! I did a brown base for my last fall/winter and navy base for my spring/summer. I think that this time around I will do a navy base for my fall/winter, but keep in some of the brown as a secondary color. I also always have a cool off-white as my second base col...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

 FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...
