so stoked!

Oh yeah!! Feelin' great today as I've gotten all of my bills paid for March as of yesterday ANDDD got my living room up to date and its looking awesome! I have a much better idea of what I need to get to complete the look, and I'm getting awesomely close. Obviously, I have pictures. No blog of mine with updates on the look would be complete without pictures!!! If only I had more time to actually craft and had a good space to paint stuff, or else my blog would be so much more exciting. But I live the life of a lowly going-back-to-college-student with a part time job. ha! So at this point I've hung ALL my pictures, that I have at least. I moved the black trunk upstairs to the end of the bed...and love it there. And I rearranged some of the furniture downstairs. No pictures of upstairs yet, as I have to still put laundry away...
Here are some before & afters:

&after!:

so as you see, I have a beautiful display of pictures and peacock-yness everywhere!
I'm very happy with how everything is looking, although I feel like I need something for the entry way walls, like opposite of the "friends and family" collage. I am planning on getting an armoire, called someone today from craigs list and hope they call me back soon!! Other than that the TV wall is very boring, but I still have my vintage metal peacock wall-hangings to put up and once the armoir is there I believe it will fill out some space and look perfect. AHHHH I'm so happy!!!

by the way , I way overcooked the lobster so that sucks.

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

I think I might blog about it

I am feeling bloggy today! I'm about ready to fire up the instagram (and dare I say start up my tiktok?) again and in about a month I'll be making the switch to my fall/winter capsule wardrobe. But here's the thing...I'm having SO much fun in my current spring/summer one! I'm pretty sure I am going to combine them for a somewhat larger than average, but longer lasting, capsule. A lot of people switch theirs every season. I tend to switch it up every 6 months. Now it may be more of a "this is my wardrobe forever and everytime I buy something new I get rid of something with holes or stains" wardrobe.  Anyway- My incredibly loose formula for building a capsule is as follows:  Figure out my color scheme! I did a brown base for my last fall/winter and navy base for my spring/summer. I think that this time around I will do a navy base for my fall/winter, but keep in some of the brown as a secondary color. I also always have a cool off-white as my second base col...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...
