red red wine

you make me feel so fine :). been trying out some new types of wine and my new fave is merlot. yum. so anyway, i did a couple crafty things on my day off the other day and all it really involved was me going onto walgreens.com and paying 12 dollars to get like  70 pictures printed and picked them up in half an hour, then making a collage and putting some in a frame. haha, we had to go to staples to get an extra long phone cord because for a moment there we had hapazardous wires connecting from the back of the tv to the kitchen to the bedroom. it was the only way we could have internet on all of our devices, it was quite a sight! and no, it wasnt the reason why i fell down the stairs....ha. so while we were at staples i saw a pack of thumb tacks in blues, teals and greens and just had to buy them since they match my living room. then since i bought thouse i figured i might as well get some use out of them, so on a whim i got a bunch of pictures printed and heres what turned out!

The first one is sort of a tribute to drew and i's relationship and are pictures from our trips to vegas, fishing, the river, camping, and some christmas pics. i love it cause its from the beginning till now and the pictures look great! this one i ended up hanging up right next to the "bar". the second picture is a collage of a bunch of pictures over the last three years or so of my friends and family and me! The title was tedious because i cut out each letter on my own out of my peacock scrap paper :) but i LOVE how it turned out! I havent hung this one up yet because its sort of huge and i havent decided where to put it yet!! The last picture is just a little update on the bookcase....not too exciting but i changed out a few pictures in the frames the top is vickie and i, the middle is drew and i and the third is brit and meee. the middle one i want to change out to one with me and katy, but we need a new picture! then each of the frames will have a picture of me and the person who the frame is from:) sorry im sorta rambling and not using proper grammar in this post...ive had a glass of wine and that means i dont want to try hard. haha. i also got a cool peacock "book" that opens up and the wieght is a beautiful addition isnt it? well the bookcase was going to tip over so i had to put them there, but i will find something else to cover it up in some time. i need to get some bookends, more books, and then i think ill be happy with it!

another exciting tidbit, for me at least..... im making lobster for dinner! im way nervous, but im pretty sure i can handle it. i checked out some recipes and it looks like a yummy way to make em is to brush with melted butter, paprika, pepper and squeeze some lemon juice...then broil em for 10 mins and voilaaaa! sounds good to me. and ill make some veggies and mashed potatoes for the side :)

well, off to make some dinner! maybe ill present it all nice and take some pictures...we shall see ;)

Chronicling the following: Unicorn Space, 75 Holistic, and being a new mom to two

I feel like it's easy to create goals, but a lot harder to stick to them! You get caught up in the daily grind or something *happens* and you never get back into it (whatever IT may be).  I had a baby almost 3 months ago and I also have a 3 year old, so life is a little hectic and crazy. I also lost my dad about a year and a half ago and that was a huge mental load in many ways. Even though my baby is still young, I want to really start reaching the goals that I set for myself in order to 1. set a good example for my family, 2. be the best mama I can be (and I can only do that if I am participating in some self-care and making time for myself) and 3. well I mean who doesn't like accomplishing things? 4. be set up for success once life gets "easier"  To start, I am going to add journaling to my unicorn space goals. I want to do more than that, but I think it's a good way to get my creative juice flowing and I can figure out what I would like to do next. Ideas incl...

Britton Bigfoot Basecamp

FUN NEWS!  We bought a pop up camper!  And we named her the Britton Bigfoot Basecamp. Eliza is currently obsessed with Bigfoot so it felt right. We did ask ChatGPT for some name suggestions, but Alex and I came up with this on our own! I told ChatGPT that we are a family of 4 with two young girls looking for a name for our new pop up camper. We love music and the outdoors, and our 3 year old loves Bigfoot! Some of my fave Chat suggestions were Pop goes the Brittons, Popped and Rocked, In Tune and In Tents, Off Key and Off Road, but Alex wasn't thrilled with them. Luckily, some of the Chat's suggestions inspired us to where we ended up!  We are going to chronicle our renovation of the pop up, which is luckily in amazing condition. We also want to try not to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so I think I'll also share what we are spending along the way.  First up is cleaning! I have spent about $40 on a cleaner that gets rid of mildew, a mop for cleaning the c...

Deodorant Review!

For quite a few years actually I have been on the hunt for the perfect deodorant. I decided to go with a natural and cruelty-free deodorant instead of an antiperspirant around 4 or 5 years ago. Deodorant is used to reduce odor using antibacterial ingredients and antiperspirant reduces odor and sweat by closing sweat ducts. Aluminum is the ingredient found in antiperspirants to block underarm sweat, and 4 to 5 years ago I believed that it could cause breast cancer and Alzheimer's. I have since researched it on my own, and found that while there is no conclusive evidence that the toxins found in most antiperspirants and deodorants are harmful to our health, why risk it? At the end of the day, I want to use as many natural & cruelty-free products and consume as much unprocessed foods as I possibly can.  An easy way to do that is by switching out my beauty products for ones that have as few ingredients as possible and GOOD ingredients that are all natural.  All natural a...
